 SLIDE GATE IRRIGATION

Slide gate irrigation system include water tube, slide gate sets and hole puncher. 

Crops that require large amounts of water generally use conventional furrow irrigation and flood irrigation. However, because the irrigation water flows directly on the field, the water is continuously absorbed by the soil, resulting in uneven absorption of water at the flow inlet and the end. At the flow inlet may have too much water, but at the end may not have enough water. Another disadvantage of conventional furrow irrigation and flood irrigation is the longer irrigation time required. These shortcomings are particularly evident in large areas such as sugar cane irrigation, paddy irrigation etc.

To solve these shortcomings, slide gate irrigation is a good solution.

Slide gate irrigation also named as side inlet irrigation, multiple inlet irrigation etc. It is a simple and convenient method to solve the shortcomings of conventional furrow irrigation and flood irrigation. It can be used for sugarcane, rice and other crops especially for crops which need large water. The method is to lay a suitable thickness water tube on the field, connect with a large water flow of pump. When water is poured into the tube till it is filled about 80%, put the slide gate set on the puncher, and use hole puncher to punch the hole in the tube. Then continue to deepen and enlarge the hole until the trumpet section of slide gate set is push in fixed position. The leading edge of the trumpet section has an annular enlarged barb structure. That can fix the slide gate set on the tube. When the puncher is withdrawn, the water in the tube comes out from the hole in the slide gate set. The slide gate slice on the slide gate set can adjust the flow rate of water or shut off the water.

In the same way to install the sliding gate set in appropriate position along the tube. After installation, there are many outlets along the tube for watering. This will increase the uniformity of irrigation and reduce irrigation time.

If you are afraid of that the water pressure is too high that may cause the tube to burst. You can use a large needle to punch some holes along the tube to relieve the pressure. Tube will not burst due to excessive pressure in this way.
